It does the job

I have sensitive skin with rosacea that will flare up on me when I shave. I get red bumps around my mouth and nose.
My wife gave me this shaving cream as a gift.
Doesn't cure my issue, but it lessons the issue. If I stay on top of shaving I don't get flare ups. It's when i get lazy and miss some days.
I had to go back to regular shaving cream over a vacay we took. I really noticed a differents.

Too thick for ideal shave

I shave my face and head, so that is a more difficult task than the face-only shavers out there. I also shave against the grain and expect total smoothness when done. I expect something slick to help get a close shave, and this is sticky, thick, and not a good consistency. I was unable to get the quality of shave I am used to. I just use bar soap now, and get better results than this.
On the bright side it left my skin nice and is all natural, so I don't hate it.... still better than the Gillette chemical garbage and similar products.

I won't go back to conventional shaving products

I was in my college bookstore and they had a Burt's Bee's display. My wife LOVES the hand balm for her hands so I decided to grab her a can. While there, I noticed that they had a few Men's products. I never knew that Burt's Bees had a men's line so I was instantly excited. I picked the shaving cream because I have really sensitive skin and most shaving products give me a rash or razor bumps afterwards. So when I got home I tried it out and was instantly hooked! I love how my neck felt afterwards and it smelled great too! My wife loves it!

Silky shave!

After recently running low on toiletries, I decided it was time to explore the rest of our new natural/organic grocery store. I was amazed at their Burt's Bees collection, it certainly outstripped the Walmarts and Uniteds around here. Fortunately I ran across some of this shave cream stashed at the bottom and thought I'd give it a try. It is absolutely fantastic! It may be for men, but it has surpassed all the shaving creams I've ever used before. I will definitely be buying it again.
P.S. Just because it doesn't lather doesn't mean it's not working!

The Best Shave Cream

Pros: Provides close shave
I have tried just about every shave cream available and I must say that Burt's Bees is the best shave cream I have ever used. It gives an extremely close shave and is very moisturizing. The razor just glides overy my face with no irritation. This is a winner!

Excellent product

I have bought this before for my oldest son, who has sensitive skin and has trouble with other products. He really likes this, and I am glad to have found something that he can use and enjoy. Plus, we love Burts Bees products! The scent is really nice too.

Great shaving cream

Gentle, light cream that is wonderful for shaving. Better efffect than the much pricier Kiehls, and for those that don't want a big lathery mess, this is a wonderful product.
Not sure i'm sold on the fragrance yet, but it's growing on me.

Ok, but not great

Cons: clogs razor cartridge
Overall, an ok product, but far from great.
This shave *lotion* is gentle, but it leaves an oily residue which does not rinse away cleanly. It also has the tendency clog razor cartridges.

Most Gentle Shave Cream!

I'm somewhat on the tomboyish side, so I like using most of the Burt's Bees Men's products. I turned to this shave cream after others gave me bad razor bumps. This is soothing and does not irritate at all. For those who don't like it, you have to get used to the fact that it doesn't foam like others do.

It's so good I don't even need to use the aftershave. I have thick hair and full beard potential...you know like Homer Simpson...so it's tough to find alternatives to Edge. however, Bert's did it and it's natural stuff that I'm putting on my face. you can't beat that. also, i did take me a while to get used to not using as much cream as you generally do with the average shaving cream, but now I'm more used to using less.

Worst Shaving Cream Ever

Cons: Irritating, no protection
I bought this product knowing Burts Bees has a good reputation. Shaving cream is supposed to help the razor glide along the skin during the shave. It did not. I was using a new blade to boot! Feels like I did not have anything on my face at all. I will stick to my King of Shaves shaving cream ANY day!

Bay Rum Shave bar is much better!

Cons: Irritating
The Bay Rum shave bar lathers much better than this shave cream. I used this and the Bay Rum shave bar gave a much better and closer shave and less irritation than this stuff. Very disappointing.

Okay so it doesn't foam up or create a thick lather. But if enough of it is used, this shave cream causes no irritation and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. It smells great too

It is not a cream, foam or gel. I don't like any of them. I want to see what I'm doing under my blade and this product allows just that. It's a smooth shave. However, I wish the scent was more pleasant.

...only if you are a cartridge man.

If you use the "modern" cartridge razors, just about anything will work, including this. It is more like a light lotion than a shaving cream.
If you are a wet shaver or method-type shaver, however, this product will be a disappointment. It is tolerable with a traditional DE razor if you shave in the shower, or at the sink if you use a pre-shave oil of some type and lots of moving hot water to keep your razor from clogging.
Since I don't like to have product lying around and am too cheap to toss this somewhat expensive tube, I'm using what I would consider excessive amounts to shave with my 38C in the shower so it will disappear faster and I can use something else. Just a couple days to go before it's a less than satisfying memory.
I had expected a more usable product, but at least now I know.

This shave cream does not foam. It provides a failrly smooth, oily coating over your face to be shaved. It's not bad with a cartridge razor but forget about using a DE safety razor with it. For me to use this with a double edge razor I mixed the Burt's Bees with an unscented foaming shave gel. That way I was able to get the good smell of the Burt's Bees with the foaming action of the unscented one. Using this combination was the only way I could recommend it.

My husband has me order all his skin care needs directly from Burts, being that we live in the desert, he says this shaving cream is the only one to use ever. Never dries his skin and no irritation at all!

This is the best shaving product I have ever used. I will probably purchase several more tubes to have on hand in case the retailer ever runs out. My first time using it provided the closest and most comfortable shave I have ever experienced. IT IS GREAT!!!

Pros: Smells great
Not so good as a shave cream. I found that it didn't offer much protection or lubricating value. I went back to using my electric shaver which I feel gives a better shave. I have used Barbasol in the past and for a wet shave, I feel it is the best but I didn't want to use a product that doesn't specify no animal testing so I won't use any commercial product anymore.
