Cons: Unpleasant smell, Hard to apply
The other views are correct, this leaves a white film behind and if you already have on a BB moisturizer, it's going to flake off.
Most importantly the hemp fragrance is way over the top! When I have this on, or when my husband's wearing it, that's ALL we smell. An improved, fragrance free version is what's needed. Give us a choice please.

So very disappointed
September 5, 2009
Pros: Smells great
Cons: Hard to apply
Pros: I loved the scent of it. I don't like to smell like "the beach."
Cons: Everything else. Doesn't rub in well, leaves skin a nasty ghastly white, doesn't wipe off easily if one has no access to soap and water (using a baby wipe did not do much), doesn't spread over skin--too dense.
I love Burt's Bees, but this sunscreen is not something I recommend to anyone.

Too Greasy
September 3, 2009
Cons: Hard to apply
I was excited about trying this product but it's probably my least favorite of any Burt's Bees products. While it seemed to protect ok, I couldn't get beyond how greasy it was. It was like rubbing bear grease on your skin and forget reapplying every two hours, you'd be like an oil slick. I couldn't even get my husband to try it out. Very disappointing.

Excellent sunscreen!

Pros: Easy to apply, Smells great
I have very fair skin that tends to sunburn easily, but this product prevents sunburn and does not wear off as easily. Much better than other sunscreens I have used.

Turns white, not good for the face
August 31, 2009
Cons: Unpleasant smell, Irritating, leaves residue
I love the Burt's Bees brand, so when I found myself without sunscreen on a hot day when I would be outside ALL day, I bought this sunscreen. However, I was really disappointed. It turned white & left a greasy-feeling film. There was no indication on the bottle that it would be bad to use on the face, so I used it there too (I figured the lack of chemicals meant it would be OK). Wrong: it burned and irritated my face & neck, and I looked ghastly pale.
I can't recommend this product, although generally I love the brand.

I'm disappointed
August 30, 2009
Pros: Smells great
Cons: Hard to apply
I agree with the other reviews. This product works fine as a sunscreen, and the fragrance is much nicer than other sun blocks out there. However, it is not moisturizing at all and leaves a dry residue on the skin and a yellow tinge. I was excited to try it, but will have to find another natural sunscreen

Was difficult to apply, and needs reapplied often. Despite reapplying, I still received a decent sun burn after 4 hours of sun.

Great sunblock
August 28, 2009
Cons: Hard to apply
I love this product even though it tends to whiten over time. I use it frequently so I wanted a product that was chemical free. I was pleased to see this product mentioned in a book I am reading titled "Toxic Beauty". They state it's the only sunblock product that uses safe ingredients on the market. That's a definite plus!

This is not the best sunscreen product from Burt's Bees. It leaves a white sheen on the face that is sticky and looks like white make-up used in vampire movies like "Twilight."

I would recommend this product for someone who is more concerned about sun protection than how they look. To me a sunscreen should protect my skin and that's what this product did. It does have the whitish layer but that's what most natural sunscreens will have.

Great Protection!
August 28, 2009
Pros: Smells great
Cons: Hard to apply
I tried this product because it was chemical free. It did a great job when it came to protecting my husband and I from the sun, but it left a white residue. The residue went away after awhile, so it really didn't bother me.

I love everything Burt's... except this product. It was hard to spread, flaked on my skin, had an odd smell, and was sticky.

it seems to work well, if you apply it thick, but it leaves your face ghostly white. not flattering.

Good idea, but could be better
August 12, 2009
Cons: Hard to apply
I have to agree with the other reviewers that this sunscreen is difficult to apply. I bought it especially for my toddler son, because it is chemical free. However, it didn't spread well, so we wound up using another brand. I still try use it on myself though, because I really appreciate the fact that it's chemical free. It's just that my son doesn't have the patience to stand there waiting for us to put this on him, let alone regular, easy smoothing lotion. I'm assuming that it protects well, since I haven't gotten burnt with it on. I didn't get it for its moisturizing ability and I'm hot and sweaty at the beach anyway, so I gave it 3 stars for that category. The smell is okay - almost like baby powder to me. Certainly smells better than some of the other stuff out there.

Have yet to try this. Just a tip for you all
August 4, 2009
A good tip for sun-block that may flake when you put it on is to mix it with a day moisturizer. This product is chemical free which is great, however to blend better just moisturize with it. This worked on the SPF80 from Hawaiian Tropic. I use that since it is the highest and I play sports. It works

Not too crazy about this product.
August 3, 2009
Pros: Smells great
Cons: leaves a residue
This is about the only Burt's Bees product I'm not crazy about. The only reason being is the ingredients tend to separate on your skin leaving a white "gunk" that rolls up. It leaves chunks all over...not good on your face and neck. I am allergic to most other sunblocks so this is really a bummer.
