I will preface this by saying that my skin is pretty dry so this product is wonderful for me, but it may be too heavy for some.
For those who have mentioned that it's difficult to apply, I thought so too at first. But now I've got the hang of it. First of all, it should always go onto clean skin.
If you shower in the morning, apply the cream as soon as you finish, while the skin is still damp. Otherwise, dampen your fingers before you dip them in the cream. You may need to re-wet them a couple times. You should only need little of the cream at a time. It spreads on in a much thinner layer but still moisturizes well. A little goes a long way.
I do this first thing when I wake up, then I give it a few minutes to sink in while I do other things like get dressed. It is a great makeup base and gives me a little bit of a glow. It really helps smooth out dry patches. Sometimes I also will use it as a night cream.
i personally love the smell, but it definitely does not smell sweet like how you'd think something made from carrots would. It's earthy and soothing. I'm starting to see the bottom of my jar and will be ordering another soon.
I have dry skin that breaks out when it gets too dry. Alone this product doesn't quite do the trick but no product does without feeling oily. If I layer it with another moisturizer or sunscreen it does the job. I love the smell and it feel great on my skin.
At first when I started applying it, it was thick and greasy. Once it was fully applied, I went to bed and woke up waiting for my face to be covered in zits because it did feel rather oily. However!! My face was hydrated, no signs of zits, actually my face looked clearer, looked and felt sooooo smooth. I am so extremely please with this product. Permanetly a part of my beauty routine!
This face cream smells absolutely amazing, almost like carrot cake batter. It is very moisturizing, so I use it during the cold winter months to protect my skin. It can be a little greasy, so I only use a little on trouble areas!
i have dry skin and this stuff is fab. i use it for my daytime wear year round and supplement it for my night routine when i don't use the carrot night cream.
Pros: - mosturizes well (got rid of a rough patch on my neck) - evens skin tone - the above may be caused by the slight yellow pigmentation - which on my fair skin I actually really like. Don't think horrible orange tan but slight warm tones. (Then again I only use it a few times a week at most.)
Cons: - very thick, hard to spread - it kind of sits there on my skin, doesn't absorb too well and makes me look a little greasy for the rest of the day
It may work better for those with extremely dry skin. It was an ok moisturizer but I'll probably be looking for something else in the future. Tip: to get it to spread a little more easily, start putting it on right after you cleanse when your skin is still a little damp. (Pat dry gently folks!)
I have used Retin-A (prescription) off and on for years. Once several years ago I started using it again every night on my face and neck. Because I hadn't used it in awhile and started out using it every night, the skin on my face and especially my neck got extremely sore and sensitized. This can happen with Retin-A. The ONLY cream that I could use that softened my skin, decreased the redness, and didn't sting and burn at all was this Burt's Bees Carrot cream. It helped immensely and really soothed my skin. At that time, it turned out to be a little too heavy for my skin every day after getting my skin back to normal, so I gave it to my Niece, who has drier skin than I do. Now we both love it!
I gave this a fair trial. I finished half the jar and am just going to give up using it for my face. Maybe just keep it for my hands. I did not like how it wouldn't spread across my skin. And I didn't like how I could feel it covering my face, so heavy. I have always enjoyed all the Burts Bees products but this one is not for me. I am going back to the Radiance jar.
I had a sample of this product before I ordered it, but it is not the same. The sample was darker and not as creamy. I liked the sample better. The day cream is good but a bit more greasy.
I've been using the Carrot Day Creme for years and I love it! I am almost 53 and have actually gotten compliments on my skin from strangers (!) - thanks to this Creme.
It's become very hard for me to find in stores and I've just opened my last stockpiled jar. Now that I've discovered this website I will be sure to stock up again soon, here.
I love this product, it leaves my face with such radiance, for years 've always had redness on my face , especially on the cheek areas, once I started using Burt's Bee day cream my face has been redness free and I now have an even tone, where has Burt's Bee been all my life, they need to advertise this product better, I'm so upset at Burt's I spent so much money on looking for the right products for years, I wish I would've known about you sooner I would have saved sooooo much money...love you Burt's dont change a thing, hummmm maybe one thing, put a lil spf on this carrot cream...but if you do not it's ok, I still love it and will always continue to use it....ALWAYS!!!! Love Ya Burt...Oh I forgot to mention one other thing, I use all their products, night cream, toner, eye cream, facial cleansers, deep pore....I love each and every one of their products...Fantastic.... my face has never looked better and now I can go outside with the sun shining on face and no makeup....I look awesome!!!
Pros: Feels great, Not greasy, Smells great, fights acne
This cream is sort of like my V8 juice for the face. I love the comforting smell, it makes my skin feel soft and soothed, especially when it's feeling particularly sensitive due to various reasons.
Although I do use the Naturally Ageless line once a week or so, depending on my mood or if I'm going out, I still prefer this as my main lotion; otherwise, it's just coconut oil a few times a week at night. If I use the the NA line, I always mix it with a small amount of the Carrot Nutritive.
I've found that this works particularly well during breakouts (especially with hormonal acne), in which I'll use nothing else, day or night, since it seems to keep things at bay. I'm guessing that's due to beta carotene working as an inflammatory, but who knows! Who cares! It works. Ha.
I've not tried the night cream, but plan to give it a go soon. I just hope whomever's running the gong show at Burt's doesn't take this wonderful product off the line, too, as they seem to be doing lately with some other great products (pore refining mask? c'mon!). I plan to stock up soon, just in case...
I love the look, feel and smell of this all natural cream. It is simply wonderful - especially in the winter when it is cold and dry. It is best for my skin at night.
One of my big concerns is large pores on my nose. They became larger and were filled while trying the daily creme moisturizer. It seemed to give me an orange tint on my fair skin.
I use lancome all my life. Lately i am looking for a less expensive solution to my dry skin and anti aging cream usage. Burts bee carrot night is a great great product and not overly priced. I like the way it absorbs into my skin and leaves a heathly color glow. Also my skin would be dry in the morning not with this product it lasts all night.
I have used this product for over 5 years now. Absolutely love it!! It only feels greasy if you use too much. I was very disappointed to hear that Burt's Bees was no longer making the carrot body lotion
I like this this cream for my dry skin. It is a tiny bit greasy but soaks in fairly quickly. I'm glad I bought the day version because the night version would probably be way too heavy. My favorite is still the "Ageless" cream but the Carrot day cream is nice when I have been in the wind or sun all day.
