good for my henna'ed hair!

I dye my hair with henna to avoid using harsh chemicals--so I thought why not go natural with my shampoo as well? Besides, my chemical shampoo was beginning to leech the henna-color out of my hair, not good!
So, I tried this shampoo bar, because I liked the fact it does not use plastic bottles.
The first week, I was skeptical. It made my hair greasy and stiff, but I had read that your hair goes through a transitional period. I combated this by doing an apple cider vinegar rinse to condition.
The second week, my hair is lovely! If you find you are getting unsatisfactory results with this shampoo, give it a week or so to work. My henna stays put and the scent of the shampoo is really nice and fragrant. I use this on the rest of my body too. I feel very clean and fresh when I am done showering!

Pros: Non-drying, Smells great
Wonderful product. Not harsh; does not dry hair. I have the world's thickest hair. This lathers quick and deep. Works on the beard too. Must use soap on skin, though.

Definitely exceeded my expectations

I have been very hesitant in trying shampoo bars. I haven't even used bar soap for about 8 years, so using a bar in my hair...crazy at best. I finally gave it a try with the small size which came in my grab bag last Christmas (Christmas '08) and was pretty impressed. It cleaned my hair very well, didn't make my hair dry out, and I really do love the scent.
That all said, I'm not sure I could use this every day (though I haven't tried). I'm one of those people who's always trying different shampoos, as nothing ever seems to work magic for more than a week or so. This will definitely be my camping shampoo from now on though, and maybe I'll give it a try for a longer period some time this summer. I would love to switch to all natural everything one of these days anyways, and the packaging and everything about this product feels earth-friendly. Just need tp take baby steps is all.

I bought this for myself and was eager to try it. I don't like the extra residues most shampoos leave. I was not happy with the results though. It lathered up well and smelled great but my hair was really dry and stiff, not soft. I am using it on my toddlers head and am happy with the results. He loves it and can do it himself. No bottle to manage and squeeze out too much. He has clean shiny baby hair, don't know why it didn't work for me.

Smells & lathers great, but leaves sticky residue

I'm really surprised after reading all the other reviews. My experience is quite the opposite. I find that this soap leaves a sticky residue on each strand of my hair so that I have a really hard time combing my hair. After the 1st use, I thought I just didn't rinse it out well enough, but after trying a few more times and trying to rinse it out better, I still get the same result.

I've used this product for years and love it. The product travels well, and I've found it lasts longer than liquid shampoo. While this innovative product is not for everyone, I recommend it highly and whenever I can.
This is a great and unique shampoo.

I purchased this for my husband, who originally received some as a gift from one of his daughters. He absolutely loves it. It cleanses the hair gently and leaves it feeling soft and the scent is to die for!

I like this shampoo bar very much. Its perfect when we travel, because I never know whats in the hotels cleansing products. And when my scalp has an over load of oil and products, it washes them right out. I enjoy the scent, its relaxing.

I was hoping for a little more tingly scalp from this bar, but admit my hair felt clean and soft after using it! My 4-year old daughter likes it as a body soap, and requests it every time I put her in the shower.

I got this bar for a trip overseas...what a great way to save space and keep away the mosquitos! This is a must-have for travelers carrying their luggage on...no liquid, no packing restraints! Smells great and keeps my long hair squeaky clean for 2 days or more. Might need a bit of conditioner for longer hair...

A Great Shampoo

I'm 60 and have been using this shampoo for years. It always leaves my hair, which is not colored and not permed, beautifully clean and manageable - no conditioner needed. And, I like the green factor that, as a bar, there is no plastic container to deal with. And, I can use it up completely.

The shampoo bar pretty much doesn't have a drawback. It cleans well, it doesn't dry out your scalp or hair, it doesn't leave a residue, and it lasts quite a while if you have short hair. The smell is strong but not over-powering, and it fades to a nice underlying scent after you've been out of the shower for a few minutes.

Although the mint occasionally bothers my eyes, this shampoo bar does a good job. It lathers really well, and it lasts a long time--I use it every other day, and I still have half a bar left seven months after I started using it.

This shampoo is the greatest shampoo for fine, oily hair that needs body. The smell is invigorating and refreshing. I just wash and go out into the word looking great with my clean bouncy hair.

I have never used a shampoo bar before, but I liked this. It makes my hair feel clean. I use this a few times a week, and on other days I use the Very Volumizing Pomegranate & Soy shampoo and conditioner which are great too.

I've been using this product every morning almost forever. Leaves my hair squeeky clean without damage. Also use it for my face. Have combination skin. I was developing scaley patches on my cheeks. Within a couple of days they were gone.
