This shampoo definetly gave me more volume and smells great! I have very fine hair and it usually falls flat instantly. If I blow dry with a roll brush after washing with this shampoo I get noticable lift. The only con is that it cleans a little too much and leaves my hair too soft with no texture. (Although most people would consider this a pro, I don't like my hair to be too soft and prefer a "dirty" feel). It also dries my scalp out a little bit, but I have not tried the conditioner because it will prob. add to the softness. I am going to try to find a good product to add before blow-drying that will add texture...that would make the perfect shampoo!

My brown/gray hair had turned to "hay" from long-term medical treatment. From the day I first used Burt's Bees my "hay" has the feel and look of hair again. I had tried expensive salon products, but they did nothing to help. Burt's Bees is the only shampoo I'll use.

Caused horrible scalp problems

I turned to Burt's Bees after loving the rest of its products and needing a sulfate-free shampoo. I made the switch from a Vitamin Water product I was running out of. Unfortunately after a week's use of this shampoo and the matching conditioner my scalp began to peel in chunks and the oily, waxy chunks would stick in my hair. The horrible looking "dandruff" would sometimes even have scabs attached! The hair itself was clean, but the itching was unbearable. I switched to the moisturizing shampoo a couple days ago and it seems to be helping. The only thing I liked was the scent, but that's not enough to justify using this.

This shampoo is now my favorite. I noticed that my hair was softer, more shiny and my highlights were coming out a lot more. My boyfriend mentioned it before I even said anything to him. I love the scent also.

Love this shampoo

I just got this last week and I love it. It doesn't lather very well though. The first time I used it, I thought my hair was going to be a mess. I put some on the top of my head and then started to do the rest and there wasn't enough lather, so I had to use more. I learned the second time to put some on the top and back of my head. When it rinsed out my hair was really dry and stiff. After I rinsed out my conditioner though, WOW. My hair was so silky and soft. When I dried it, it was still silky and smooth. I didn't get too much volume, but I love how it makes my hair feel.

Just what I wanted

I've been looking for a natural shampoo that wouldn't weigh down my very fine hair. This is the first one I've tried that didn't seem to contain too many moisturizing ingredients for my hair type. My secret is to only use conditioner on the ends, just enough so that I can get a comb through my hair. It took me a long time to figure out that conditioners and moisturizing shampoos just make my hair go flat and limp. New natural shampoo users should be aware that none of the brands will foam up like traditional shampoos-- it's a small adjustment to make-- but the products still clean well.

I really wanted a great shampoo that was natural without any SLS.. i LOVE the smell of this shampoo but didnt find it to leave my hair soft or add volume. I also did not care for the runny texture.. Sad because i LOVE BURTS BEES!! but this product was not for me

I was a loyal BB customer before I tried this, and this almost broke me from their products. This shampoo/conditioner combo was TERRIBLE. It made my hair look okay, but my scalp got terribly greasy with huge clumps of dandruff. Like my scalp was peeling off. It was utterly disgusting. I thought I might be having an allergic reaction and complained about it to a friend of mine. Turns out, she'd used the same a bit before me and had the same reaction. We both live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, with hard water, hot weather and high humidity. I don't know if region played a factor, but I will NEVER buy another BB shampoo or conditioner again.

I absolutely love this shampoo. I've suffered from an itchy scalp for years, and I was pleased to find that this shampoo cured me of it. I love the smell and since it is not very sudsy, it rinses out easily and leaves my hair feeling light and soft with no residue.

I have been using this shampoo and the coordinating conditioner for almost two weeks and I am VERY happy with them. I have the average amount hair, but each individual strand is fine and my hair tends to get oily, so I am always trying to get more volume into it. It took a few days for my hair to get used to the shampoo. I should add that my hair is all-natural, no dye, highlights, or chemical processes whatsoever.
I agree with other reviewers that it does feel remarkably different compared to the drugstore brands most people are used to using. At first, I tried to use as little as possible because it costs twice as much as a drugstore brand, but now I'm fine with using as much as I need to cover my whole scalp because the benefits definitely outweigh the costs. Because my scalp gets so oily, I just use the shampoo there and let it rinse through the rest of my medium-length hair and this seems to work just fine.
I'd say this shampoo is very close in quality to a salon-brand shampoo, but doesn't cost nearly as much. And I love the way it smells - even my boyfriend said my hair smelled good! I'm not quite sure yet, but I think this product has improved my dandruff, which is definitely an added bonus!

I loved the way this shampoo smelled and it does make my hair extremely soft. I have a really sensitive scalp that usually itches after using most shampoos but I've been using this one for 3-4 weeks now and my scalp feels better than when I use dandruff or dry scalp shampoo. The only thing I do not like is that I get very oily spots if I don't use huge amounts of the shampoo and have to wash my hair twice. I have extremely oily hair though, as in I wash it in the morning and its already somewhat oily by the time I go to bed and very oily when I wake up in the morning. I have a feeling its just the volumizing formula though. This may not be the best shampoo for me, but I'm definitely going to try the grapefruit shampoo next. I refuse to waste this stuff because its nice :)

Didn't volumize but...

I didn't really purchase this product because i wanted more volume in my hair. I already have alot of volume but wanted to try one of the shampoos. I loved this because it is almost all natural and smells SO GOOD. It did turn my hair a little dry but then i started using more of the conditioner and it wasn't as bad then. If you want a good smelling natural shampoo then get this but I didn't see a change in volume?

My hair has so much volume and my cow lick is less obvious. My scalp no longer itches, which is a great comfort to me since my scalp had itched from over processing. I have tried over almost every salon product to add body to my baby fine hair with no luck until I started using Burt's Bee hair products. Burt's Bees voluminzing shampoo is the best. I love the smell of pomegranate. It is very light and refreshing unlike the stronger perfumes in major shampoo brands. Thanks Burt's Bees.

I used to have very thick hair and about 2 years ago, I started experiencing hair loss. There was a bald patch and a lot of things contributed to this - change of eating habits, stress, and the shampoo and conditioner I was using. I used Pantene before and it was absolutely horrible!! Pantene was the main reason for my hair loss. Anyway, I began to use natural products and came upon this burt's bees shampoo. I noticed a change in my hair within a week!! Oh, and yes - my hair grew back BUT I can't say burt's bees was the main reason for that. I also started to massage my hair with coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil which helped my hair growth. I also started eating more protein like beans, spinach, etc - I am vegetarian. But yes, I am very happy with this shampoo and conditioner - I will be forever be faithful to this shampoo and other Burt's Bees products!!

My hair is pretty much perpetually flat, almost no matter what I do, so I was really interested in trying an all natural product that might actually add some volume. After using both the shampoo and matching conditioner for several months, I'm a bit disappointed to say that I really haven't noticed any added volume at all. This may be due to just how fine and thin my hair is, though, but I just haven't noticed any change at all. I am very pleased with how soft it leaves my hair, though, and I've gotten several compliments both on that and the shine it has now.

I have been using this shampoo for about 2 months now and I really like it. I have tried the color keeper shampoo and the moisture shampoo before, but I found that they do not compare to this shampoo. It gives me just enough volume and is super gentle at the same time. I have greasy hair and have to wash everyday, as well as blow dry, and this product makes my hair look and feel great. I also like the smell, but I agree that the grapefruit would be nice! Thanks Burt!!!!

Best natural shampoo for thin and oily hair

My hair is thin, oily, and prone to irritation and allergies. Regular shampoos give me a red itchy scalp. I have been trying natural hair products for years and I was about to give up because none of them cleaned well and mosy gave my hair a waxy texture. This shampoo is great. My hair is extremely soft and light, without residue or oil. The smell is light, which is great. I am seneitive to fragrance, so I like that there is little or no added fragrance. After one week of use, my scalp is itch-free. I can't express how thankful I am for this product. I'm just happy to have finally found a great natural product.
