Great for night time

Pros: Thick
I use this on my hands at nights. Right before I go to bed, I (and my husband) smooth this on our hands. I love the way it makes my hands feel in the mornings. My husband loves the smell. He will hold his hands up to his nose and breath it in for a while after applying!

It heals!
March 5, 2010
Pros: Thick
Cons: Unpleasant smell
I put this on my dry hands at night, sometimes with gloves and when I wake up in the morning, I have soft, smooth supple hands. Definitely not the best smell in the world, but if I'm just wearing it at night who's going to notice...besides my hubby? :-)
It is greasy, but it's salve so it's supposed to be greasy. That's part of what makes it work so well! LOVE IT!

Great Product for Cracked Hands
March 2, 2010
Pros: Thick, Smells great
This is a great product for severly dry hands. I love the smell, but some people think it is too strong. I also like the texture of it and it is long lasting.

For very dry hands
February 25, 2010
This is a very good moisturizer if you have very dry hands. It does leave a little bit of greasiness, however, but if you only use a small amount, it is a manageable level of greasiness. When I put on too much, I just wait a few minutes and then wash my hands with only a little soap. Still soft, but no grease.
While this is great for very dry hands, other moisturizers might be better for those with only mildly dry hands.

Best Hand Stuff Ever
February 24, 2010
Pros: Not greasy, Smells great
I purchased this for my husband who has really really dry, cracked hands. HIs hands got so bad they were litterally bleeding. I got this for him and not only did it heal up his hands right away, he loves the smell and the fact that it's not greasy.

Takes Getting Used To, But Overall a Great Product
February 22, 2010
Pros: light once soaked in
Cons: very thick
I received this in a gift set from my in-laws. I moved and actually forgot I had it until recently, and I just started using the products inside of it. My hands get terribly dry and cracked in the winter time, because of the cold dry air, and because my job requires me to wash my hands frequently. I used the hand salve, and although it took a minute for it to soak in, it worked wonders on my hands. For the first time this winter, they are finally starting to heal. My husband loves it also, and he NEVER uses any kinds of lotion or other products on his hands. It helped to heal his dry, calloused hands. Great product for dry, damaged skin!

Wonderful! Helped with eczema, and dry hands +
February 11, 2010
Pros: Smells great
I typically get awful eczema when the weather changes, or when I use some different laundry detergent etc. But after getting some of this for Christmas, it's become my miracle cure. I swear. It seems greasy at first, but it does it's job amazingly well. My skin didn't burn, itch, or sting. Even with the scratched open wounds on the backs of my hands or on the inside of my elbows. This also works great for dry skin anywhere else on the body. Elbows, knees, ankles etc. I love this product!

Great for winter
February 10, 2010
My hands were so dry from the winter air this year that I couldn't stand it. The hand salve is a bit greasy at first, but it does its job flawlessly! My once-chapped hands are now soft again, and I'm a happy customer.

February 10, 2010
Pros: Thick, Smells great
Cons: Greasy, sticky
This is a fantastic product for keeping dry skin at bay. It is greasy and actually sticky though, so I only use it at bedtime when I won't be using my hands and it's not a problem. The smell is nice too, not overpowering. :)

Hand Salve

Pros: Thick
I would recommend this as long as you are aware it is greasy. It absorbs fairly quick, but you would want ot put it on & head out for the day. I use it at night when I am going to bed...works great!

Amazing!
January 24, 2010
Winter was drying out my hands more than usual this year so I tried the Hand Salve, and I'm really glad I did! It works so well. I put it on at bedtime and by the time I wake up in the morning, my hands are ready for another cold day.

Pros: it works!
Cons: Unpleasant smell
My hands get so dry. I wash them so often when cooking and cleaning. I apply this at night only because of the residue/greasy left on my hands. The only thing I don't care for is the smell. Don't change the formula to correct the smell. The salve works.

Winter Necessity for Fingertips
January 6, 2010
Pros: Not greasy, Thick, Smells great
I would not be able to use my fingertips in winter if it was not for this product. My skin cracks, splits and is so dry. The harsh winter is so hard on my hands. Now with this product I just dip some fingers in and I'm healed. I've given it to a friend who was having the same problem, she loves it too. I was trying neosporin and bandaids to relieve the cracks with no success... Thank you Burts Bees for another natural way to get through this winter.

Good but not my favorite
December 30, 2009
The hand salve delivers on its promise: your hands will feel silky smooth like a baby's bum! My hands get really dry and chapped in the winter, especially the knuckles. But this stuff is intensely moisturizing. The smell is strong...you will either love it or hate it. My only complaint is that the salve makes my hands extremely greasy immediately after I put it on. I usually wash my hands after a minute. By then, most of the moisture has seeped in so my hands are incredibly soft. Washing my hands takes away the grease, not the moisture. Oh, and as a side note my husband loves when I massage his hands with this product :)

I really don't like this.
December 26, 2009
Cons: Unpleasant smell, Too heavy
I hate the smell of it the most, it reminds me of Vicks and peppermint or something. It's awful. It's also extremely oily and greasy it doesn't absorb or blend in. It's the only Burt's Bees product I dislike.

FINALLY!!!
December 5, 2009
Pros: Not greasy, Thick, Smells great
I love the ingredients - so natural!! Skin used to peel around my finger nails and it was bothersome. I decided to buy this at a whim - I wouldn't usually do that, but I have tried a lot of Burt's Bees products and have never felt disappointed in any one of them - at least not yet. So I tried this - the smell was overwhelming but it didn't smell bad at all. It has a very thick texture and just a little bit helps. I love this product - my hands have never looked so great. They feel so soft, and my skin no longer peels around my nails.

Great moisture, hard to get out of the tin
December 1, 2009
Pros: Thick, Smells great
I like this product a lot. It's a little bit tough to get a good portion out of the tin - I think I would've liked it better in a squeeze bottle or pump. Overall the product itself is great. I had some pretty dry hands as a side effect of my pregnancy and this stuff definitely helped sooth them! I love the smell..... and apparently so does my dog! Let's just say I have to keep this up higher than the coffee table cause she can't get her nose/tongue off the tin!
