After finding out Sodium Lauryl sulfate could be causing my dry skin problems with my fingertips and hands, I tried some Bert's bees soaps and the hand repair cream. After just a few weeks my hands are so much better.
I am so happy I finally found something that actually work on my dry cracked hands!!!! I work at a grocery store and am constantly washing my hands and handling cleaning products and since using this stuff my hands have pulled a complete 180!!!!
I like to use this along with the beeswax hand cream that came in the hand repair kit. The smell isn't very good but it doesn't bother me. I feel like it makes the softness of my hands last longer than using the hand cream alone.
It took me a year to actually break down and buy this product. I am a massage therapist and all the hand washing makes my fingertips crack. This product is likely one of the best on the planet, with the exception of the fragrance. I stay away from most fragrances because they make me sick. Would love it if they would change the scent, but I wonder if the fragrance they use isn't supposed to be masking a natural medicinal odor that the product may have. I would pick medicinal over the fragrance, but that's just me. "Dear Burt, please fix the smell". :)
I really love how well the Hand Repair cream works. It keeps my hands smooth and nice, of course, but it also works really well for other stuff too.
I'm able to use it to completely repair my lips (almost over night) if I've chewed on them accidentally, stop a cold sore from forming, and heal cuts very quickly.
I have a serious problem with deep cracks in my fingers. This repair creme works better than anything I have ever used. Some reviews mentioned they didn't like the smell. Well, if you have serious cracks you won't even think about it. I really don't mind the fragrance. I always have a tube on hand for those annoying cracks.
i will not be buying this product again! it smells HORRID, which i would be able to get over if it actually worked. it doesn't absorb into my hands for a fairly long time, leaving you with greasy stinky hands for at least 15 minutes. i'm talking really greasy, really stinky. after it absorbs, your hands do feel nice, it just doesn't last that long. i saw no major improvement in the dryness of my hands after consistent use of this product. back to the drawingboard for me!
Huge, huge, huge fan of this product. I developed eczema on my hands when my son was born 7 years ago. My skin would get so bad that I would have multiple band aids protecting my cuts in my knuckles. It was painful and embarrassing. I have tried every product out there, even steroidal creams. Nothing worked. This product does. The smell is medicinal but now that my hands are 100% better, it's worth it to me. Thanks, Burt's Bees. My life has been changed because of this product.
I was really excited to try this product because I love Shea Butter - but - I really don't like the smell! The product is very good - but I can't use it because of the fragrance.
Cons: Unpleasant smell, strangly too heavy and too light at the same time
On the one hand, this product works amazingly. I put it on before bed, and it made my hands super soft and I could still tell it was working the next morning. On the other hand, the texture is very, very strange. Maybe my container was a bit old (it came in a gift pack and I didn't get around to using it for a while), but it was oddly liquidy and not liquidy. It was like... I can't even describe it. But it didn't make me happy. Plus, the smell is bizarre. At first I thought it was a nice lavender and shea butter scent, but then it got weird. VERY strong. But I think it's worth it if you need the moisture!
Living in Alaska my fingers get really dry during the winter. This hand cream is the only one that really helps repair my chapped and cracked hands. Others don't heal the cracks or help keep them from returning.
I used to think that the more expensive the product the better. However, no matter how much $ I dropped on a new cream, my hands stayed dry. Alas, I have found refuge with this product! LOVE IT! A little goes a long way and you can't beat the price! Yes, the scent is strong, but it doesn't last but a few minutes. Once the product sinks in, it's fine.
This product worked really well on my hands, and so I tried to use it at night before going to bed, but I just couldn't get over the smell. It almost made me nauseous. I ended up having to throw the tube away almost completely unused. If something could be done about the smell, I might buy it again...but until then, no way.
ok. so it feels like SILK on your hands.. really lovely feel for sure. but the smell is just hideous. like- real, real bad... like coughing when you first inhale it bad. maybe its just me...? but if u can get past that almost bitter, extrememly strong shea smell- then ur golden. cuz the texture an absorbtion is fantastic
You only need a little bit of this cream to have moisturized hands all day! It works wonders protecting my skin from the cold, harsh winter. However, it does smell strong. I don't mind it, but I can understand why some people would find it unpleasant.
I cannot live without this lotion. It's that simple. I live in the northeast, and with the harsh winters comes extremely dry skin. My hands used to get so dry that my knuckles would crack and bleed. Then I found your Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream, and my life has changed. I put a small amount on before I go to bed and my hands haven't cracked since. Thank you for saving my skin! The only complaint I have is that is smells terrible, but who cares if it stinks if it performs miracles?!
