Pros: Absorbed quickly, Smells great
Cons: chalky, not waterproof
I agree with others that this product is very chalky and comes off very easily with water/sweat. No good for humid climates or even dry climates that are HOT. Performs well for sun protection as long as you don't care what you look like. Needs to be reformulated to be at least waterproof

The Best Sunscreen Ever!
February 20, 2010
Pros: Easy to apply, Absorbed quickly, Smells great, moisturizing
I recently switched to this product after learning about how bad chemical sunscreens are for you. So I decided to toss the conventional chemical sunscreens I was using and try this one. I love it! It smells nice and there are no dangerous chemicals. I've even noticed that my weird uneven tan is fading faster since I started using it! I feel very protected. It is winter so I have not fully put it to the test yet, but I've noticed that it is protecting me way better than the much higher SPF sunscreens that I was using before. The scent is very light and doesn't clash with perfume, etc., and although it seems a bit thick when you apply it at first; once you get used to the consistency and learn how to rub it in well, it's easy to apply and you'll have no white streaks. It feels lighter on my skin than chemical sunscreens and it is moisturizing! Thank you Burt's Bees.

Smells very good, but does not rub in. It leaves a white coating on your skin.
Love all Burt's other products though.

Very Effective Sun Block
September 12, 2009
Pros: Easy to apply, Absorbed quickly, Smells great
If you don't want to be burned then this is the One to use. It is what I used on my little ones and they never were burned. It did not bother me that I could still see some of the whiteness of the lotion because I knew they wouldn't be red later. A little goes a long way.

Great sun protection for fair skin
September 9, 2009
Pros: Easy to apply, Absorbed quickly, Smells great
I use sunscreen on my face every day, and I have been on a quest to find a sunscreen that is both paraben/pthalate free and nano-chemical free. I have recently become very concerned about the health effects of both sets of chemicals. I was relieved that this sunscreen offers both strong protection from the sun, and it also feels and smells great. I enjoy using this as a regular moisturizer, and feel comfortable knowing that I am protected from the sun all day long, too.

It Works
September 8, 2009
Pros: Easy to apply, Smells great
Two points:
It works.
It is the most natural of all the ones I could find in the best stores.
Since I must have sunblock or be burned all the time, you got me. It is either this, or wear hot longsleeves and die of heat exhaustion.

least favorite Burt's Bees product
September 6, 2009
Pros: Smells great
Cons: Hard to apply
I love everything Burt's, but was disappointed by this sunscreen. It goes on very thick and chalky, and takes a lot of work to rub in. This is one of the few products I've purchased from Burt's that I would never buy again.

I like this sunscreen. It does protect you well and goes on smooth. It isn't greasy like some sunscreens. I don't really like the smell.

Thank you Burt's Bees!

Thank you for a natural sunscreen choice. The consistancy is thick but I liked that for my children. It worked well for us at the beach. It seems like we had to reapply a lot especially when they were in the water. I liked it.

Best infant sunscreen I've found!
August 29, 2009
Pros: Easy to apply, Absorbed quickly
This product is a little thick, but provides excellent sun protection naturally. I have very fair skin and even a short time in the sun causes burns. I use this product about 3-4 times a week. It works well on my infant daughter that does not need to be exposed to all the chemicals found in other sunscreens. It is nonwhitening if you are careful to completely rub it in.

Not great
August 29, 2009
This sunscreen seems to protect well, but it is a little sticky. It feels as though it doesn't fully absorb- you still feel like you're coated in it a half hour later. It also rubs off on darker clothing after being applied.

Close, but no cigar.
August 29, 2009
Pros: Easy to apply, Smells great
Cons: protection not effective
I was extremely excited when I first saw that Burt's Bees was coming out with a sunscreen. My skin is fair and very, very sensitive. Normal sunscreens left my skin covered in hives and left me miserable too. So, as soon as it was available, I bought some to take with me to the beach. I had also used other mineral sunscreens in the past, and they were effective, but I wanted something with a higher SPF. I noticed that with the Burt's Bees sunscreen, it didn't protect me nearly as well as the other natural brand screens I had bought in the past with an even lower SPF.

Sticky but helpful
August 29, 2009
Pros: natural, good for face
The consistency is thick and sticky so it doesn't feel great, but I continue to use it because of the ingredients. I have a hard time finding regular sunscreen for my face that doesn't burn the entire time I have it on and this one doesn't! I usually wear makeup over it and that tends to help with the sticky feeling.

Hopeful but no good
August 29, 2009
Cons: Unpleasant smell, stained clothes, didn't do its job
I really wanted this all natural sunscreen to work but alas my fair skin got burned :( I had to reapply liberally after being out in the water or sweating which in TX is every five min. It also stained my white shirt I had to wear since I was getting burned and it had a funky smell. I hope there are other alternatives out there I will find soon.

Good in theory
August 28, 2009
Pros: Smells great
Cons: Hard to apply, leaves white streaks on skin, doesn't stay on in water
I agree with the other reviewers. It's a great idea, but it's difficult to apply, leaves white streaks on your skin and everything else you touch, and comes off easily in the water. I love the fact that it doesn't use potential carcinogens to protect, but it still needs to go on well and stay on.
