I was really excited their new products. I liked how magazines raved about them. Bought Honeysuckle and Hibiscus... Well, they are terribly disappointing.
I can't see colors on my lips but the colors appear on my upper lip line. I feel like it's just normal chapstick but really overpriced.
I bought one of these in every color and i love them. They go on smooth and last a long time. The darker colors are deep and rich. And the lighter ones provide that lovely shimmer and pop of color. The only negative is the price. I feel like it is a bit overpriced for what it is. But then again I also think you're partly paying for the brand. Thats the only reason I gave 4/5 stars.
I purchased the Red Dahlia. Nice lip balm but I have used others and have gotten similiar results. Bought this for the Burts and Bees name and for the tint. Can hardly see any color on the lips. Even though the packaging and the color of the lipbalm have deep red colors on them... None of that is noticable on my lips.. Save your money and buy the untinted stuff. I tried it on the inside of my palm to see if I could notice the tint... There is NO TINT.
I do. not. leave. the house. without. my tube. of red dahlia. I am SO pale, and a smear of red dahlia in a rush takes me from "zombie" to "living human being." All my friends use the same color. It's just dark enough to add color and still look natural.
I have sensitive lips prone to allergies, especially to lipstick and lip gloss. I only use Burt's Bees chapsticks. I was excited about this product I thought it will give me some color to my lips. I bought the Red Dhalia which I thought would be the most intense. But really, it is not much more than a lip balm and it kind of smears all over the place, can't apply it too liberally because it you get a a funky pink upperlip/ sides of mouth. It can be embarrassing, must check lips carefully after applying.
I bought the Rose tinted lip balm. I like it because it goes on nice and smooth, feels great on my lips, but I'm not a fan of the color. It's really sheer. I know some people really like this because it isn't too heavy, but for my lips (i have medium olive skin tone) it doesn't show too well. I thought with a tinted lip balm there would be a bit more color, especially because when you look at the balm it's a dark color. Doesn't have a good color pay off, but I like the moisture it gives.
I am confused this isnt the best. It hardly gives off any color. It gives about as much color as bbs replenishing lip balm. I only tried pink blossom so the other ones might show up and it doesn't smell good either it smells like lipstick and I herd that the use carmine which is bugs.... It is very moisturizing and fells very good but it needs a scent for me.
The new tinted lip balm is awesome. My lips keep from getting chapped and they have a bit of color. I use this instead of lipstick now and would highly recommend it.
From someone who is a devoted MAC product wearer it was surprising to me how much I loved this product. If you know anything about the MAC brand you know it's heavier makeup but this product goes on perfectly on top of lipsticks for me, adding a more natural look. My husband bought me Red Dahlia for Christmas at my request of a Burt's bees colored chapstick product but it wasn't really my color so I bought Pink Blossom and I love it! Just so you know, you don't have to be a *natural girl* to enjoy this product, infact I think that it can help you transfer your regular more made up look into a more perfected but still natural look.
I love this lip balm. It provides such healing moisture and keeps my lips from chapping/peeling, and the colors offered are ao pretty :) I only wish there was a more neutral pink offered. Pink blossom is a very hot pink. I LOVE honey suckle and hibiscus and plan to try tigerlily next. LOVE this product!
I like the feel and the tinted look gives just enough color to look pretty but natural. I got the Red Dahlia. My only question is why it has to have the cardbord case. I would rather have the product cost a little less and have the tube that's inside the cardboard.
I've gone through a couple tubes of this balm (red dhalia and pink blossom) and I love it for two reasons. 1. Some lip balms make my lips peel badly and leave this weird white line mere my lips meet. Maybe it's an allergy to an ingredient. This balm doesn't do that. 2. It's February and my lips are not chapped, even though I'm not wearing it constantly. I don't need lip balm overnight anymore, though I sometimes till use a colorless balm before bed.
I love the tinted lip balm, my favorite is the honeysuckle. I can't go with out it so I have purchased several tubes to keep at home, work, and in my car. It is not a heavy color which I like, I have gotten many compliments on the color and people seems surprised that it is a Burt's Bees product. I would completely recommend it for a great lip moisturizer with a light tint.
I found this in a grab bag and I am hooked! I have the Rose shade and I adore it, it smells great and it looks fantastic on the lips, and you know it is pure care. The amount of industrial color is insignificant.
I hate wearing lipstick. I have big lips and I feel like a clown in most lipstick colors. I love this product because it gives me all that I need in a lip color. It's sheer enough that you can build it up without it looking cakey. It doesn't bleed like a lot of lipsticks do. It's not too creamy so it doesn't collect and crease in your lip lines. Very flattering on pale skin tones.
I wanted a natural look, something that looks like you tried, but not really. The Honeysuckle shade is a light, sheer, tan color that provides a slightly more nude lip look over my natural lip. It provides moisture, not shine, and is definitely a no-mirror application. Actually, should you go a little over, it serves to make your lips look a little fuller. The wax is smooth, and stays on.
I would have given this 5 stars, but the additional packaging is an unnecessary extra cost. While it's imperative to have some sort of hygiene seal when purchasing cosmetics, this could have been accomplished much more cheaply by using a simple, plastic seal. I know we may pay more for a 100% natural product, but Burt's Bees doesn't need to pile on even more cost with unnecessary packaging.
I received this in a grab bag and fell in love with it. Glides on smooth, nice color, works well for a casual everyday brush of color while keeping your lips in good shape.
I have these in all the colors and love them all but am especially fond of the Rose and Red Dahlia as they go best with my coloring. They moisturize, look good and eliminate the need for layering lip balm, lipstick and lip gloss. Since purchasing these when they first came out, I have not used lipstick at all. I love these and love the fact that they are a very low maintenance product and that there is no need for a mirror to put these on. I put these on and they last through drinking water and talking on me for about 3 hours.
